Driven by passion
Founded in 2018, Skilled Hands Organisation CIC is a Nottingham-based community interest company committed to empowering people, particularly women and children through practical skills, creativity, and community connection. In February 2023, Skilled Hands was formally registered as a Community Interest Company, strengthening its commitment to social impact and community benefit.
Women facing unemployment, low income, and caring responsibilities remain at the heart of our work. Through artisan craft workshops, we support confidence-building, wellbeing, and pathways into enterprise, volunteering, and employment. As our organisation has grown, we have expanded our reach to include children, young people, and the wider community through inclusive and paid programmes, while staying true to our core purpose: using craft as a tool for empowerment, resilience, and opportunity.
