This October, Skilled Hands is proud to present Red Carpet 6: Threads of Resilience, an event that celebrates the strength, creativity, and determination woven into the lives of the people who make up our community.

At first glance, it may look like a fashion show. There will be beautiful garments, inspiring performances, awards, and moments of celebration. But beneath the glamour lies something much deeper.

Threads of Resilience is about people.

It is about the young person who joins the runway because they want to build confidence.

It is about the individual who says yes to an opportunity that feels unfamiliar.

It is about stepping outside comfort zones, discovering hidden strengths, and finding the courage to be seen.

Every year, our Red Carpet event brings together people from different backgrounds, experiences, and walks of life. Some arrive nervous. Some arrive excited. Some arrive unsure of what to expect. Yet time and again, we witness remarkable transformations.

Through our Model Spotlight series, we invite you to meet the faces behind this year’s event and learn more about the confidence, courage, and aspirations that inspire them to take part.

We are also excited to feature a recycled fashion segment as part of this year’s showcase. By transforming pre-loved garments into runway-ready creations, we hope to highlight the beauty of creativity, sustainability, and reinvention, powerful reminders that something old can be transformed into something extraordinary.

In many ways, that is what Threads of Resilience is all about.

The event will also raise funds to support the ongoing work of Skilled Hands in empowering women and young people through creative skills development, confidence-building opportunities, and community programmes.
